The Child Educational Center offers a variety of programs for children in La Cañada Flintridge and Pasadena. CEC has programs for infants, toddlers and K-8 across seven locations.
The philosophy of the center is to provide children with a learning experience year-round. This is done by engaging children in outdoor learning, which fills the gap left by schools in the summer. The CEC says this is crucial for early childhood development.
The CEC holds before- and after-school programs during the school year in addition to the summer programs. The programs provide competitive teacher to child ratios, where teachers provide help with school work and projects. Also available are arts and crafts and outdoor activities.
During the summer, children can enjoy more of an outdoor setting offered in the camp locations nestled in the Foothills of the two cities.
The CEC is open to children from public and private schools, and provides transportation if desired.
Summer programs run through Aug. 9, with the Extended Summer Fun program running until Sept. 1 at the Oak Grove site.
