Kidspace’s Circle of Friends celebrated 40 years of Kidspace Children’s Museum on Saturday at the Santa Anita Racetrack. An event with a “Boots and Bling” theme, some guests dressed as Faith Hill and Tim McGraw, Johnny Cash and June Carter Cash, Dolly Parton, cowboys and cowgirls. The event raised about $200,000, which was donated to Kidspace for its community outreach program. The program supports approximately 80,000 underserved members of the community by allowing free access to the museum.
Circle President Claire Marco and co-chairs Hayley Boaz and Debbie Barsom collaborated with a team of Circle members to produce the event, which attracted nearly 400 guests. “We are celebrating Kidspace’s 40th anniversary and knew we had to do something big,” said Marco. “Since everything is bigger in Texas, we thought the race track paired with a ‘Boots and Bling’ theme fit the event perfectly.”
