Door of Hope, based in Pasadena, is hosting a special online auction through this weekend, which features 60 different packages. Some of the high-end items include vacation homes in Cancun and Puerto Vallarta, concert tickets, sports memorabilia and unique wine parties. Proceeds from the auction, which closes Sunday, Sept. 17, will benefit the families and children experiencing homelessness who Door of Hope serves.
Featured auction items include a dream vacation at a beachfront Mexican villa in Puerto Vallarta, which will include eight days and seven nights, complete with a personal chef, wait staff, personal bartender, security guard and private spa services. The property is located on 1 acre of white sandy beach and features a Junior Olympics-size swimming pool and media room. The villa can accommodate up to 22 guests.
Other items include a private wine class and tasting for 20 people; a Pasadena Symphony and Pops private party; Coldplay tickets; autographed sports memorabilia; a hot air balloon ride over Temecula wine country; a farm-to-table luncheon at the home of a private winemaker; five days and four nights in Cancun; beauty packages and gym memberships; and a family four-pack of tickets to Disneyland.
“Without the overhead of a major event, Door of Hope is looking to maximize the impact that auction contributions will make,” an event spokesman said. “Door of Hope would like to thank all of the donors who generously contributed toward this online auction.”
The event is serving as a “stay-at-home” gala.
