Harambee Ministries Gala Is Sept. 30

First published in the Sept. 22 print issue of the Pasadena Outlook.

Harambee Ministries will have its first gala in three years when it returns to an in-person format on Friday evening, Sept. 30.
The event, which is being held at a private residence in Pasadena, has not been held since the start of the pandemic.
For the past 40 years, Harambee Ministries, along with dedicated volunteers, have provided education, support and leadership for families in northwest Pasadena.
The evening will include a cocktail hour, silent auction, dinner, and will feature live entertainment. All funds raised will go to support the critical programming Harambee provides to underserved youth in Pasadena.
“Harambee seeks to nurture and equip leadership that will holistically minister to the community by sharing biblical truths in order to achieve the rebuilding of urban neighborhoods through relocation, reconciliation and redistribution,” Harambee Executive Director Angela Lee said. “Our three pillars are community engagement, community impact, and community sustainability. We do this through after-school programs, performing arts programs, and tutoring programs, all at no cost to our participants through the generosity of donors.
“This year, we invite local residents to ‘get together and push’ and be part of this strong and loving mission. It will be an evening of fundraising in celebration of our founder, Dr. John Perkins, and four decades of impact in our community and beyond,” she added
Tickets are $150 and available at bit.ly/harambee40. For sponsorship opportunities, donations for the silent auction or additional questions, email info@harambee.org.
