Pasadena International Film Festival Sept. 9-16

The Pasadena International Film Festival will kick off Thursday, Sept. 9, at the Laemmle Playhouse 7. The festivities will run through Sept. 16.
PIFF will showcase 117 films and hold a moderator-hosted question-and-answer session at the conclusion of each showing.
Expected attendees include Jamie King of “Black Summer,” Primetime Emmy Award winner Camryn Manheim of “It’s Wyatt Oleff,” Jacob Bertrand of “Cobra Kai” and Cheri Oteri of “Saturday Night Live.”
This year’s PIFF is honoring Golden Globe and Primetime Emmy nominee Jane Kaczmarek with the Rose of Pasadena Award, an honor presented to an individual who has devoted time and energy to the lives of those in the city of Pasadena.
PIFF is rated in the top 100 film festivals out of more than 9,000 film festivals, according to FilmFreeway. In the festival’s past, it has honored the likes of Martin Sheen, Jason Ritter, Tom Arnold, Melora Hardin and Michael Gross, among others.
Additionally, the Great Gatsby & Award Ceremony will be hosted by the Speakeasy, and the Passholders Lounge will be hosted at the Lyd and Mo Photography Studio.
