Pasadena Jaycees’ Golf Tournament at Brookside Oct. 6

The Pasadena Junior of Commerce (“Jaycees”) recently announced its golf tournament will return on Wednesday, Oct. 6, at Brookside Golf Club to benefit the Jaycees’ long-standing community service projects.
The fee to participate is $150 per golfer and sponsorship opportunities range from $250-$2,500. Tickets for the dinner reception only are available for $25. Donations of any amount are also welcomed.
The first tee time begins at Brookside at 10 a.m. and the reception will follow at 6 p.m. at the nearby La Casita Arroyo. The event will also include a silent auction, on-course activities and giveaways.

Proceeds from the tournament go directly toward the Jaycees’ community service projects, including “Operation Gobbler” and “Operation Santa.” Operation Gobbler is a Thanksgiving food drive where the Jaycees provide low-income families with ingredients for a Thanksgiving meal in partnership with Friends in Deed. “Operation Santa,” the Jaycees’ largest and longest-standing project, has been serving Pasadena children in need since 1934. Local children write letters to Santa, and the Jaycees send Santa and Mrs. Claus with toys to the homes of each child on Christmas Eve. Through these projects, the Jaycees typically feed more than 300 families and provide toys to approximately 3,000 children.
“As the coronavirus continues to affect the Pasadena community and the Jaycees’ many community service projects, I am ecstatic that we are able to safely move forward with our golf tournament fundraiser, which helps to fund our ‘Operation Gobbler’ and ‘Operation Santa’ projects,” said Pasadena Jaycees President Phillip Arce. “The success of these projects is made possible by our volunteers, donors, collaborators, and leaders of the community.”
The Pasadena Jaycees began in 1929 as a volunteer and leadership development organization for people aged 21 to 40 who want to improve the lives of those in the Pasadena area through community service.
