Families, faculty and staff gathered to recognize promotion of the Flintridge Prep 8th-grade class into high school. The night began with a heartwarming speech by 8th-grade President Genevieve Harvey, who encouraged the class to acknowledge the ways they have impacted one another. Board of Trustees vice chair David Codiga also spoke, urging older students to embrace the new incoming freshmen with kindness and openness.
The ceremony also acknowledged particular students who excelled inside and outside the classroom. Each department awarded honors to standout students, including Athletes of the Year Kate Huntley and Bennett Oakes. Two students were honored with Outstanding Citizenship Awards for their honor, service and courage — Veronica Habashy and Madeline Montes. Additionally, the Pursuit of Excellence Awards, sponsored by the Flintridge Prep Fathers Club and Parents Association, recognized Leila Wu and Ryan Alameddine for their demonstrated enthusiasm for learning.
