Former San Marino High School standout Zander Wick announced his collegiate wrestling career has come to an end. He finished 31-13 in three years at Wisconsin.
San Marino High School alumnus Zander Wick announced the end of his collegiate wrestling career last Friday after suffering multiple injuries.
“It’s been a bit since my last surgery and feel like I should let everyone know that my collegiate wrestling career is over,” Wick wrote on Twitter. “It was a hard decision to make, but I feel like it was the right one. Thanks to everyone who supported me along the way.”
Wick posted a record of 31-13 with the Badgers since 2016. His last two seasons were cut short because of injuries. The former Titan had surgery to repair a microfracture and the hip labrum on his right side in April.
Wick, along with his twin brother Evan, was one of San Marino’s most decorated athletes. The 2016 graduate was a seven-time All-American and CIF State champion, claimed three CIF Southern Section Masters Meet titles, and won four CIF-SS individual crowns and four Rio Hondo League championships.
