Hahn & Hahn Partners Among Top Women Attorneys

Christianne Kerns and Candice Rogers

Christianne Kerns, Hahn & Hahn LLP’s managing partner and a member of its Business & Finance Department, and Candice K. Rogers, a partner in its Litigation Department, were recently recognized in Los Angeles Business Journal’s annual roundup of the region’s most influential women attorneys. The Journal’s publisher and CEO Josh Schimmels writes, “During this challenging time battling the coronavirus, we are relying on our trusted advisers more than ever. In times of uncertainty, lawyers . . . are particularly needed to help our businesses respond and react to issues at hand.”
Hahn & Hahn Litigation Department Chair Rita M. Diaz said, “This recognition underscores the value that Candice and Chris consistently deliver to our clients, even under these arduous circumstances. Hahn & Hahn has always prided itself on hiring top legal talent, but as a certified Women & Minority Owned Business Enterprise, we are especially proud to be recognized for the excellent counsel of the firm’s women lawyers.”
For Kerns, this marks the third consecutive year she has been named to the list. The Business Journal touts her extensive expertise in a wide “variety of real estate and commercial transactions and general business matters, with emphasis in commercial and real estate finance and finance workouts.” The annual supplement also notes that Kerns “is a trusted board member and advisor to boards of directors, equity holders, and C-suite executives with a track record of identifying and effectively addressing risk and legal issues as well as strategic and operational challenges with the overarching goal of optimizing results, value and ROI.”
This year marks the first time on the list for Rogers, a family law specialist certified by the State Bar of California Board of Legal Specialization. Rogers is “skilled in handling complex family law matters,” says the feature. “She has settled and litigated numerous dissolution of marriage actions involving highly contested custody disputes, and complicated income and property issues.” Kerns, who obtained her J.D. from University of Southern California Gould School of Law, provides outside legal counsel to the Pasadena Tournament of Roses Association and Huntington Memorial Hospital, among other corporate and nonprofit entities. Her expertise includes a broad array of real estate matters, including purchase and sale, leasing, development, construction, and finance, including public financing; partnership and limited liability company matters and disputes; board membership and governance matters; general commercial contracts; commercial and asset-based financing, restructures and work-outs; real property taxation; real property and title disputes.
A Pepperdine University School of Law alum, Rogers practices primarily in the area of family law including premarital agreements, postnuptial agreements, dissolution of marriage, property division, custody and support. She has served on the board of directors of the Harriett Buhai Center For Family Law for the past seven years, including two as president of the board.
