The winter sports season is well under way but local news outlets and organizations are still recognizing the high school football athletes from the fall.
The most recent recognition comes from online publication Cal-Hi Sports, which covers all major sports and athletes in the state. A list of All-State football nominees from the Southern Section was recently released and San Marino High School running back Beau Hobbie was the lone Rio Hondo League player to be named.
Hobbie has earned numerous accolades after the Titans’ season ended in the CIF Southern Section Division 9 quarterfinals last November. He was named the Rio Hondo League’s most valuable player and the 2018 offensive player of the year by the Pasadena Star-News after rushing for 1,521 yards and 26 touchdowns. Hobbie set a new career rushing record at San Marino with 3,517 yards, averaging 8 yards per carry.
