La Cañada Downs Temple City, 61-38

The La Cañada High School varsity girls’ basketball team cruised past visiting Temple City, 61-38, last Friday to collect its fourth Rio Hondo League victory of the season.

Laure Scoville led the Spartans with 21 points, 14 rebounds and three steals, and Bethany Co chipped in 15 points and three assists. Melissa Le recorded a double-double with 12 points and 12 rebounds, Mia Oakley-Stilson finished with five points, five assists and four steals, Kylie Sears had four points and six rebounds, and Madison Tea and Lily Khayat each contributed two points.

La Cañada (7-1 overall, 4-1 in league) will look to avenge its lone loss of the season when the team travels to South Pasadena this Friday, May 14, at 5:15 p.m.

Flintridge Prep 62 / Palos Verdes Chadwick 13

Four Wolves scored in double figures to rout visiting Palos Verdes Chadwick in a Prep League game on Tuesday. 

Ashlyn Zhang led Flintridge Prep’s offensive barrage with 20 points, six rebounds, six assists and four steals, and senior standout Sofia Gonzalez, who will play at Tufts University, added 16 points, four rebounds, four steals, three assists and two blocks. Maddie Chiu and Maddi Huie each contributed 10 points and three steals, Mikaylie Kiyomura finished with four points and three rebounds, and Riley Hause chipped in two points and four rebounds.

Flintridge Prep (9-0 overall, 6-0 in league) will travel to Burbank to take on Providence in a league game this Friday at 6 p.m.
