Make-A-Wish Greater Los Angeles will honor the father-and-son duo of Nelson and Christopher Rising of Rising Realty Partners at its annual Wish Gala on Thursday evening, Nov. 9, at the Hollywood Palladium. The nonprofit organization, which grants life-changing wishes for children with critical illnesses, has selected the Risings for their long-time commitment to development and philanthropy in Los Angeles.
Rising Realty Partners is a full-service investment and operating platform specializing in creating world-class commercial and industrial properties. Rising executives have been creating value for investors in California commercial real estate markets for more than four decades through their dynamic vision and commitment to community. Together, the Risings have built some of the most iconic buildings in California and supported numerous public service endeavors through board and community leadership. Rising Realty Partners is among the growing number of development firms and capital providers to the real estate industry that are passionately supporting Make-A-Wish Greater L.A.’s mission to bring hope, strength and joy to children and families in Los Angeles.
“My father and I are very grateful to be honored by Make-A-Wish and hope to raise awareness of the critical work they do for children with life-threatening illnesses in Los Angeles,” said Christopher Rising, a Pasadena resident who grew up in La Cañada Flintridge. “We are committed to their incredible mission and stand together with the community to ensure all eligible children are granted life-changing wishes.
“We are involved with a lot of charities, but I’ve never seen a charity that has an impact that makes you want to cry like when you see a Make-A-Wish [recipient]. And now there’s anecdotal evidence that these wishes can help make people better. It’s an amazing thing.
“Once we got introduced to this, how can you say ‘no’? This is game-changing. They have some amazing people there.”
The Risings join past honorees including Robert Downey Jr., Scooter Braun, and the L.A. Kings hockey franchise in being honored for their support of Make-A-Wish Greater L.A. Presenting sponsors for this year’s gala include the Goldwin Foundation and Security Benefit.
“Nelson and Christopher Rising have shown a focused vision and tireless commitment in developing the Los Angeles community,” said Paul Fuhrman, board member at Make-A-Wish Greater L.A. “Their support will be invaluable in garnering critical funding for the organization.”
