Mijares

The Mijares family hosted its Mijares Mexican Restaurant’s 97th Anniversary with great food, tequila tastings and mariachis. The annual celebration honors Jesucita Mijares, who moved to Pasadena in 1908 and started her tortilla-tamale business out of her home on South Fair Oaks Avenue. After a handshake deal to purchase the land on Palmetto Drive, the matriarch opened Mijares Mexican Restaurant. The rest is history.
