Mothers’ Club Power of Two Celebration Raises $70,000

The Mothers’ Club Family Learning Center recently hosted its annual “Power of Two” celebration at Descanso Gardens in La Cañada Flintridge. With 140 of its closest supporters in attendance, the event raised $70,000 to support the critical education programs and social services that Mothers’ Club offers low-income families.
The evening honored Fran Norris Scoble, the immediate past head of Westridge School, for her many years of leadership, vision and advocacy for Mothers’ Club and the Pasadena community. Norris Scoble served on the board of directors at Mothers’ Club for seven years, including two years as president of the board.
Attendees also heard from Mothers’ Club participant Lourdes Ocana, who has taken advantage of all the opportunities and experiences the agency has to offer while her two children receive high-quality early childhood education at the center. Ocana has completed every level of ESL study offered at Mothers’ Club and currently serves as treasurer of the Parent Advisory Board.
