June (Jackie) Lillian Thompson

June (Jackie) Lillian Thompson, 88 yrs., passed away peacefully in her sleep at her Ashland home February 5, 2021, surrounded by her husband of 70 years, David Thompson, and her daughters Barbara Gibson, 69, and Terry Davis, 67.
June was born April 18, 1932, in Los Angeles, Ca. She moved to Fairbanks, Alaska, for 4 years and relocated with her family to Eugene, Ore., where she graduated from Eugene High School. After graduation she made her way to Hollywood, Ca., where she met the man she would spend the next 70 years of her life with. Married to David on May 4th, 1951, at Walker AFB in Roswell, N.M., where David was serving in the USAF. During their 4 years there they had 2 daughters then moved to Glendale, Ca., where David joined the Glendale Police Department. June dedicated her time there to being the most caring mother and a strong partner for David. June became a model for all the top department stores in Glendale for many years. June served on the board for Police wives of Glendale, Campfire Girls of America, and the Women’s Civic League. Her love for the violin led her to the become a member of the women’s committee of the Glendale Symphony Orchestra. June was also Secretary for her PEO chapter in Glendale to better the lives of women in her community.
In 1993 she moved to Ashland, Or. for a quieter life with David. June was a strong member of her church, First Church of Christ Scientist, which gave her great comfort in life and great peace in her passing.
June is survived by her husband, 2 daughters, grandchildren and great-grandchildren, all which brought her endless Joy and Love.
