Kimberly Joan “Kim” Bachman passed away Saturday, Aug. 10, from complications related to cancer.
Kim was loved dearly by those who knew her gentle spirit and tender heart. She grew up in La Cañada Flintridge and attended Flintridge Sacred Heart Academy, then UCLA, where she graduated with honors. She was a lifelong reader and shared her love of storytelling with friends and family. Her care and respect for the environment began during her girlhood when she earned the WoHeLo Medallion in Camp Fire Girls. Throughout her life she loved animals and cared for many. She was talented in academics as well as the arts, in which she studied flute and ballet.
Kim carried her appreciation for classical music and the fine arts throughout her life. Her career in the legal profession spanned decades in both Austin, Texas, and Los Angeles. She will be remembered as a woman devoted to her family and friends, with a constant smile and infectious laugh.
Kim is preceded in death by her father, William Bachman. She is survived by her mother and stepfather, Joan and Chuck McGee; her siblings: Creighton; Frank (Gina), Alexander, Lauren, Olivia; Jennifer (Dave) Paynter, Kevin, Andrew, Ryan, Katy; Mary (Mike) Maury and Brianna.
A celebration of life will be held Saturday, Sept. 28, at 1 p.m. at Royal Oaks, 1763 Royal Oaks Drive in Duarte. Should friends desire, contributions may be sent to an animal shelter of your choosing.
