Mary K. DeLurgio

Mary K. DeLurgio, a longtime La Cañada Flintridge resident, passed away on Saturday, Dec. 10, after a protracted battle with cancer. Mary K. was born in Mexico City on May 2, 1937.  She was an accomplished author of two books and was a Marriage and Family Therapist in La Cañada Flintridge for more than 45 years. She impacted the lives of many in our community and will be missed for a long time to come.

Obituary: Donald W. Brown

Donald Walter Brown, 87, of La Cañada Flintridge, passed away peacefully on Tuesday morning, Dec. 6, at his home. Don was born in Bergen County, New Jersey in 1929 to Walter and Elizabeth (Egan) Brown. He was the oldest of three children. He graduated from Pennington School in 1947, where he was a dedicated and successful athlete, and went on to graduate with a civil engineering degree from Colorado State A&M in 1956, following his service in the U.S. Army.  Continue reading “Obituary: Donald W. Lunar New Year Festivities Friday at Carver and Valentine

To celebrate the Year of the Rooster, Carver Elementary School will host its annual Lunar New Year Celebration with lots of festivities on Friday, Jan. 27, from 10:30 a.m.-1:30 p.m.

Lions Club Student Speech Contest Feb. 5

The San Marino Griffins Lions Club and the San Marino High School Leo Club will sponsor a student speaker contest on Feb. 5, from 1-4 p.m. at Crowell Public Library. Students from all local public and private high schools are encouraged to participate. Each year a different subject is selected by the Lion Multiple District Four Student Speaker Committee. Morning Octane Revs Up Cars, Toys for Tots

Pasadena-based Rusnak Auto Group and Toys for Tots sponsored a holiday toy drive as part of a regular Morning Octane event.

Nothing says a toy drive like a car show.
In an effort to help kids all around the San Gabriel Valley who are less fortunate, Rusnak Auto Group combined its Morning Octane on Saturday with a Toys for Tots event in the parking lot of Santa Anita Park with the hopes of gathering gifts for area children.
