PAL Hosts Golden Badge Awards Dinner

The Pasadena Police Activities League (PAL) recently hosted its 15th annual Golden Badge Awards Dinner at the Pasadena Convention Center. This year’s event celebrated the 20th anniversary of Pasadena PAL and honored Steve Brockmeyer of Bolton & Co. with the Golden Badge Award for his commitment to supporting the youth of Pasadena. Retired Pasadena Police Chief Bernard K. Melekian, the Salvation Army Pasadena Tabernacle and current Pasadena Police Chief Phillip L. Sanchez were also honored with PAL Service Awards in recognition of their meaningful efforts to build and maintain the PAL Program locally.
Pasadena PAL is a youth program that provides after-school and summer programs for middle school and high school students in Pasadena. The program is educational, athletic and recreational, and is intended to develop and maintain a bond between police officers and the youth of the community. Pasadena Police Department officers volunteer their time to help divert kids from boredom, apathy, loneliness and the countless problems of growing up today.
