Pasadena Pops Plays the ’60s This Saturday

The Pasadena Pops continues its popular outdoor summer concert series with the Midtown Men singing music from “Jersey Boys” on Saturday, July 15, at the L.A. County Arboretum. The Midtown Men bring their Broadway talent, choreography and unique onstage chemistry to the Arboretum to deliver a blast from the past celebrating music from the ’60s, led by resident Pops Conductor Larry Blank. Hits from the Four Seasons, the Beatles, Motown and more, include such old favorites as “Can’t Take My Eyes Off of You,” “Get Ready” and “Can’t Buy Me Love.”
The production reunites four stars from the original cast of Broadway’s “Jersey Boys.” The Midtown Men include Tony Award-winner Christian Hoff, Michael Longoria, Daniel Reichard and Tony-Award nominee J. Robert Spencer who shared the Broadway stage for more than 1,000 performances of the mega-hit production.
All concerts are held at the Los Angeles County Arboretum and Botanic Garden. Grounds open for picnicking and dining at 5:30 p.m. and performances begin at 7:30 p.m.
Large LED video screens allow concert-goers to see the artists and orchestra up close, with high-quality sound and production. Free parking and shuttle service are available at the nearby Westfield Santa Anita shopping center.
The Arboretum is at 301 N. Baldwin Ave., Arcadia. Single tickets, beginning at $25, and season subscriptions are available by calling the box office at (626) 793-7172, going online at PasadenaSymphony-Pops.org or by purchasing them at the Arboretum on the day of the concert.
