Paradise Canyon Elementary School recently held its first Character Day celebration. It started with a rally, where Principal Carrie Hetzel welcomed everyone and, along with counselor Alex Woo, encouraged the students to demonstrate extra acts of kindness. They also signed a pledge to be kind. The 6th-graders adopted a 5th-grade buddy and wrote something nice about them on a heart. Fifth-graders made friendship bracelets for each other and put them into a long chain of kindness. Second-graders wrote messages on rocks, and another class made posters and put them around the campus. Teachers wore their “Be kind” T-shirts. It truly was a day of extra-special kindness.
