Bishop Robert Barron’s latest “Word on Fire” program, “The Pivotal Players,” opens on Wednesday, July 19, from 7-9 p.m. in St. Bede’s John 23rd Room.
The Pivotal Players are the men and women who influenced or changed certain doctrines of the Catholic Christian faith and who were often out of step with the culture of their time. Part 1 of the program includes: St. Francis of Assisi, the Reformer; St. Thomas Aquinas, the Theologian; St. Catherine of Sienna, the Mystic; Blessed John Henry Newman, the Convert; G.K. Chesterton, the Evangelist; and Michelangelo, the Artist.
Each session includes viewing a DVD followed by small group discussions for expanding and deepening the understanding of that particular pivotal player. The program is free.
