The Pasadena Police Activities League recently held its 17th annual Golden Badge Awards Dinner at Noor. The event hosted silent and live auctions featuring an array of items and experiences. This year’s Golden Badge Awards theme was “Oh, the Places PAL Kids Will Go.”
Robert and Maggie Shahnazarian, owners of Noor, were honored with PAL’s Golden Badge Award “for their commitment to supporting the youth of Pasadena.”
This year marks the 22nd anniversary of PAL, a national organization that came to Pasadena in 1997. PAL partners students with the men and women of the Pasadena Police Department in a fun, safe and nurturing environment that fosters a healthy relationship with local law enforcement while providing academic and cultural enrichment. The PAL program serves an average of 120 children a day, with more than 200 children on a waiting list.
The Golden Badge dinner is the organization’s primary fundraising event. All proceeds from the evening are dedicated to reducing the size of the waiting list and increasing the quality and number of vital PAL programs.
