PUSD Volunteers Honored at Pasadena Education Network’s Wine, Beer Tasting on April 15

The Pasadena Education Network will host its 10th annual Wine, Beer & Spirits Tasting on Sunday, April 15, at the McCreight Family home in Pasadena from 5-8 p.m. The event includes a variety of wines, beers, spirits, and — new this year — is a food tasting sponsored by Amara, Asian Mix Boba Fix, Paella Project and Nothing Bundt Cakes. Featured will be the Blair Jazz Band, a silent auction, live auction and recognition of outstanding Pasadena Unified School District volunteers.
PEN is a network of more than 1,300 parents who support and send their children to Pasadena Unified School District schools. The grassroots nonprofit promotes family participation in public education in Pasadena, Altadena and Sierra Madre, and believes that parent and community involvement are essential to building strong schools for all students. Annually, PEN recognizes parent and community leaders who represent the type of involvement for which they advocate.
This year, three outstanding volunteers are being honored: Kristy Clougherty, Kathy Onoye and Mayra Villa-Kowal. PEN will also recognize Rosalina Rodriguez with the PEN Founders Award for her commitment to PEN’s work.
Tickets for the Food and Wine Tasting are $75; a $100 ticket includes the Beer & Spirits Tasting also. Kids Klub Pasadena will provide discounted childcare for children of attendees who complete paperwork no later than Monday, April 9, at 5 p.m. Sponsorships and opportunities to recognize the event honorees are available at penfamilies.org.
