Robert (Bob) S. Lahey

Bob Lahey passed away on January 10th, 2021 after a long battle with Alzheimer’s disease.
He was born in Los Angeles, California, and lived most of his life in Pasadena, California. He attended San Rafael Elementary School, McKinley Junior High School, Pasadena High School and Pasadena City College. He then went on to receive his Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering from UCLA and his Master of Science degree in Aerospace Engineering from USC.
Bob worked for Lockheed Corporation in Burbank, California, for 10 years as an aeronautical engineer testing aircraft structures, such as the L1011 airplane and the Space Shuttle. Then, he worked for the MSC Software Corporation in Eagle Rock, California, for another 17 years. At MSC, he was a Software Development Engineer and later a team manager.

Bob loved the outdoors, especially hiking, camping, boating, fishing and later golf. He loved to travel, especially driving his Recreational Vehicle, to go fishing with his buddies in Alaska and to sight-see across the country with his family. He also enjoyed many adventures traveling all over the continental United States, Hawaii and Alaska with his wife and close friends. He liked working with his hands and made many improvements to his long-term residence in Pasadena. Bob’s family and many friends will greatly miss the joy and love that he brought to their lives.
Bob is survived by his wife of over 44 years, Nancy (Black) Lahey; his son, David Lahey of Pasadena, California; daughter, Elizabeth Lahey; son-in-law, Matthew Gardocki; grand-daughters Lorelei and Rosalind Gardocki of Glendale, California; and his sister, Pamela Hagen of Sonoma County.
A virtual Memorial Service was held at the La Canada Presbyterian Church in La Canada, California, and a private Graveside Service was held at the Forest Lawn Memorial Park in Glendale, California, in February. In lieu of flowers, donations, in his name, may be made to the Alzheimer’ Association. Please sign the guest book at Tributes.com.
