High Point Academy recently hosted its “Rock of Ages Gala” at the Westin Pasadena, celebrating 52 years of being “Forever Young.” With 275 guests in attendance, the school raised more than $100,000 for the creation of a new makerspace on campus. The makerspace will promote creativity, critical thinking and self-exploration, enabling students to engage in learning through risk-taking, tinkering and discovery, translating across various subject matters and projects — and will prepare students for high school and beyond. The gala was organized by Sheryl Brown, Jeannine Lee, Candace McMullin, Christina Pasten, Purvi Patel, Tanya Potts, Lynnea Schoenbaum, Jolie Solomon, Rebecca Taft and Li Yang.
