San Marino Junior Alliance recently welcomed about 100 people at its annual fundraiser on the grounds of Southwestern Academy. The theme was “Cruising for Casa” and included tasting stations of regional foods, live music and a silent auction. SMJA was established in 1942 by a group of local women and continues to thrive as last year marked its 75th anniversary. SMJA has exclusively supported Casa Treatment Center — a residential alcohol and substance abuse treatment center for women in Pasadena — for more than 38 years. It is the only local live-in addiction treatment facility for women.
