PCC Foundation Honors Homegrown TV Producer, Writer

In an evening marked by wit, humility and style, the Pasadena City College Foundation welcomed guests to a “Hometown Legend” event highlighting the career of sitcom writer and producer Sheldon Bull, a PCC and UCLA graduate. A sunset reception at the Athenaeum preceded an engaging presentation to a packed house of donors and friends. Bull, who grew up in Pasadena, credits great teachers at both institutions for nurturing his talent, and during more than 30 years in TV he has written and/or produced for shows such as “MASH,” “Newhart,” “Coach” and the current hit series “Mom.” PCC Trustee Hoyt Hilsman, himself an accomplished writer for stage and screen — and an adept interviewer — and Bull gave the audience a memorable behind-the-scenes glimpse into the highly competitive world of television.
