Fountain Dedicated at ‘Autumn in the Garden’ Fundraiser

Arlington Garden was recently recognized by state Sen. Anthony Portantino as California Nonprofit of the Year for Senate District 25. The nonprofit group celebrated with its annual fundraiser, “Autumn in the Garden.” Also during the event, the fountain was dedicated to the memories of garden founders Betty and Charles “Kicker” McKenney. On hand in the crowd of 200 people were Pasadena Mayor Terry Tornek, L.A. County Supervisor Kathryn Barger, state Sen. Anthony Portantino, and Councilwoman and designer Mayita Dinos leading the dedication with a champagne toast. Other key contributors included fountain underwriter Bob Bozzani, fountain designer Cha-Rie Tang and Miguel Martinez of All Shades Construction. Patina Catering and Domaine de Cala as provided food and wine at the celebration. Michelle Matthews serves as executive director of Arlington Garden.
