College Access Plan Hosts Benefit Party

College Access Plan recently hosted All CAP No Gown, a benefit at the Pasadena home of Elise and Rick Wetzel. Organized by the CAP Pack, a dedicated group of volunteers, the event’s carnival-themed event featured gourmet appetizers by Chef Claud Beltran of Bacchus’ Kitchen, handcrafted pizzas served by Blaze Pizza and Nothing Bundt Cakes for dessert. Highlights of the evening included remarks by Elise Wetzel, who is a CAP volunteer at John Muir High School; CAP program alumni, Mayor Terry Tornek; and Congresswoman Judy Chu, who presented CAP board chair LaWayne Williams with a certificate for Leadership in Educational Access. Founded in 2006, College Access Plan is the only program that provides free, open-to-all drop-in college preparation advisement in Pasadena’s public schools.
