High school students taking the Spanish I and II classes offered by the La Cañada Flintridge Educational Foundation spent four hours a day learning pronunciation, grammar and conversational Spanish, as well as reading periodicals. By the second week, they only spoke Spanish in class and became more comfortable with practice.
