Despite the very high temperatures, La Cañada Elementary School parents and special guests recently came in record numbers to the first picnic lunch of the school year. Excited parents arrived early and set up, and once the bell rang, out came their students who gave them a big hug before dining on their favorite lunch. Of course, goodbye hugs were given again when lunch was over.
