Soroptimist International Hosts Benefit

Soroptimist International of Altadena-Pasadena recently held its third annual Making a Difference benefit luncheon at Brookside Country Club with the theme, “For the Love of Women.” The organization presented local nonprofits Door of Hope and the Women’s Room at Friends In Deed with the Soroptimist Agency Award in recognition of their dedicated staff and volunteers who make a difference in the lives of the homeless in the San Gabriel Valley.
Southern California Women’s Health Conference founder Lena Kennedy was the recipient of the Best for Women Award. Former California state Sen. Carol Liu and retired director of the Pasadena Public Library Jan Sanders were each given Legacy Awards. The luncheon was chaired by Brenda Sharp.
