St. Andrew Church recently hosted its annual “Bach to Broadway” concert, which included a donor reception on the church’s rooftop.
The evening’s honoree was Pasadena resident Claire Bogaard, who has chaired the St. Andrew Restoration Committee since its founding in 1991. Bogaard, the wife of retired 16-year Pasadena Mayor Bill Bogaard, is a champion of architectural restoration and preservation in Pasadena. In addition to her work at St. Andrew, she is the founder of Pasadena Heritage, a historic preservation organization that has supported the restoration of Old Pasadena for 40 years.
Concert proceeds will help fund the ongoing restoration of St. Andrew Church. Built in 1928, the church is an extraordinary example of 10th century Romanesque architecture that is listed on the National Register of Historic Places.
