Rotary Club of San Marino members were treated to a taste of local culture last week as several artists from schools in town exhibited their work for the organization’s annual art competition.
Students from San Marino High School, Southwestern Academy, Huntington Middle School, Carver and Valentine elementary schools and Sts. Felicitas and Perpetua School all placed in this year’s competition, and had their works showcased along the walkway into San Marino Community Church, where the Rotary Club holds its weekly meetings. Carver Students Strive to Bring Holiday Cheer to Orphanage

This holiday season, Carver Elementary School students are collecting the basics in personal care to donate to the children and teens who live at Maryvale Orphanage.
The school is accepting donations through Tuesday, Dec. 18, and then students will package them into gift baskets for the approximately 70 children living at Maryvale, which is located in Rosemead. Items being collected include body wash, bar soap, shampoo, conditioner, deodorant, toothbrushes, toothpaste and socks for young people ages 7 to 18.
