San Marino Shows Improvement in Loss at Northview

The San Marino High School varsity football team suffered a second consecutive loss last Friday as the Titans fell to host Covina Northview, 42-7, in a nonleague game last Friday.
The last time San Marino opened the season with two defeats was in 2016. The Titans managed to overcome the tough start and qualified for the CIF Southern Section playoffs.
First-year head coach Justin Mesa remains optimistic about his group despite being outscored 84-10 the past two weeks.
“I think we have been improving,” he said. “We’re improving on a weekly basis. Obviously, some of the results aren’t what we wanted and some of the performances aren’t what we wanted.
