The Flintridge Prep varsity girls’ water polo team fell to Huntington Beach Marina, 6-4, in the CIF Southern Section Division 6 championship match last Saturday. The Flintridge Prep varsity girls’ water polo team edged No. 4-seeded Marina of Huntington Beach in the majority of statistics but struggled to get the ball into the back of the net last Saturday, as the Rebels fell to the Vikings, 6-4, in the CIF Southern Section Division 6 championship game at the William Woollett Jr. Aquatics Center in Irvine. Flintridge Prep Denied First CIF Crown by Katella

The squad, guided by head coach Andrew Phillips and assistant coach Edin Memisevic, includes Lauren Bennett, Elise Desjarlais, Lara Friedman, Lauren Ginn, Natalie Kaplanyan, Danielle Maxwell, Gracie McKiernan, Paige Nixon, Mona Patterson, Lu Patterson, Tess Robertson-Neel, Isabela Simons, Emeline Tolleson and Makena Walklett.

The Flintridge Prep varsity girls’ water polo team fell to Anaheim Katella, 5-4, in the CIF-SS Division 7 final last Saturday. It was a year of many firsts for the Flintridge Prep varsity girls’ water polo team. The Rebels won their first-ever quarterfinal and semifinal matches to clinch a berth in the CIF Southern Section Division 7 championship match, a feat that had never been accomplished in the program’s history.
Unfortunately for the Rebels, they were denied their first title by No. 1 seed Anaheim Katella, whose stout defense kept Flintridge Prep’s offense at bay for a 5-4 victory at the William Woollett Jr. Aquatics Center in Irvine last Saturday.
