Young & Healthy’s Oktoberfest Gala Is Oct. 2

Young & Healthy, the Pasadena-area nonprofit, is putting a German twist on its gala. The annual fundraiser on Friday evening, Oct. 2, will have an Oktoberfest theme.
“We have reimagined our event, which will consist of contact-free delivery of a delicious German dinner and a virtual family-friendly, livestreamed fundraising program to enjoy in the comfort of your home,” an event spokesperson said.
Young & Healthy’s mission is to provide access to high-quality health care for uninsured and underserved children and families, and to improve the quality of life for all children in the Greater Pasadena area through prevention, education and enhanced health care services. Since the organization’s founding in 1989, Young & Healthy has provided $22,087,680 in volunteer medical services, cared for 27,702 patients, and currently boasts 330 volunteer medical professionals.
Recently, Young & Healthy has evolved and expanded into the access-to-care and trauma informed care fields to meet the growing and changing needs of Pasadena’s most vulnerable children.
The Oktoberfest celebration is being co-chaired by Leslie White and Terrie Casas.
The event will honor the Pasadena Child Health Foundation with the J. Donald Thomas Award, and Allison Dietrick will receive the Alliance Award.
Chef Claud Beltran and his team at Bacchus’ Kitchen in Pasadena have created a delectable German menu for the Oktoberfest dinner. All food will be delivered contact-free the day of the event.
Corporate sponsors include Huntington Hospital, OptumCare, Pasadena Child Health Foundation and Ice Hat Creative. Other patrons include Los Angeles County Supervisor Kathryn Barger and Congresswoman Judy Chu.
Young & Healthy’s Board of Directors includes President Sandy Roberts, Laura Diaz Allen, Dr. Melissa Cahill, Marsha Dawe, Marjorie Diaz, Cara Mia DiMassa, Victoria Eaton, Dr. Matthew Feaster, Maxwell Harwitt, Nick Howell, Dana Goolsby Jones, Chris Mayne, Meredith Miller, Dr. Jamal Nabhani, Acacia Reed, Leigh Kable Richart, Angelique Stewart and Carrie Walker.
