Lt. Gov. Gavin Newsom and Advancement Project founding co-director Connie Rice served as the keynote speakers at the 17th annual So Cal Women’s Health/Beauty and Empowerment Conference & Expo last Friday at the Hilton Pasadena. More than 2,000 women and men attended the free full-day event designed to empower women and men to make better health decisions and develop a lifestyle that includes healthy choices.
Lena L. Kennedy, CEO of Community Women Vital Voices, is the event’s producer/architect. Jihee Huh and Los Angeles County Supervisor Kathryn Barger served as the co-chairs. Leslie Sykes of ABC-7 Eyewitness News was emcee and Wells Fargo’s Lisa Stevens, the company’s executive vice president and regional banking executive, served as the moderator during the luncheon.
