The Pasadena Art Alliance recently held its Grants Reception in the South Oak Knoll garden of Kirsten and Todd Moltz. The Art Alliance awarded grants totaling $300,000 in varying amounts to 31 arts organizations in the San Gabriel and Greater Los Angeles areas.
The directors of most of the recipient organizations were at the event to receive their checks and made brief remarks about the significance the grants will have for their specific arts project.
This event is the culmination of many hours that the members of the Art Alliance Grants Committee dedicated to interviewing grants applicants, and discussing in confidential committee meetings the merits of each proposal, before making decisions about which organizations would receive a grant this year and for what amount.
Each of these grants fulfilled the purpose of the Pasadena Art Alliance, which is to foster appreciation for contemporary visual arts in Southern California by supporting artists, exhibitions, educational programs and art-oriented, nonprofit institutions.
