The Junior League of Pasadena held its annual “Simply Speaking” event at the La Cañada Country Club. Guests enjoyed a reception, silent auction and raffle before dinner and a presentation by speaker Farnaz Esnaashari-Charmatz, creator and executive producer of Nickelodeon’s animated preschool series “Shimmer and Shine.” Funds raised will contribute to the JLP’s focus on BELS (business, entrepreneurship and leadership skills for women) to empower women to break barriers in order to build futures and strengthen their communities.
