The Walter Hoving Home recently hosted its 12th annual Backyard Barbecue fundraiser. The event included a silent auction and dinner buffet from Smokin’ Steve’s Pit Barbecue. Acoustic guitarist Dennis Agajanian performed as well as a choir comprised of the women from the home.
The fundraiser benefitted Walter Hoving Home, whose primary focus is a discipleship center serving women 18 years and older who have been involved in drug addiction, alcoholism, prostitution and other life-controlling problems.
The Walter Hoving Home, named for the former chairman of Tiffany & Co., expanded to the West Coast in 1984. The Pasadena home is located in the historic Mira Monte Hotel and has the capacity to provide care for 50 women.
