More than 150 friends and colleagues recently attended a send-off party at Armory Center for the Arts to celebrate retiring Executive Director Scott Ward. The event was chaired by Armory board member Gale Kohl.
In honor of Ward’s 17 years of service, the evening featured a silent auction of 17 works by artists from the Armory family that raised $10,000, with all proceeds supporting the center’s exhibitions and education programs.
Ward received commendations from Congressman Adam Schiff, state Sen. Anthony Portantino and the city of Pasadena and was presented with a 100-page, hardbound tribute book chronicling key events and people from Ward’s tenure. Also in attendance was Leslie Ito, who will become the 29-year-old organization’s third executive director, effective Sept. 4.
