The Pasadena Education Network recently hosted its 11th annual Wine, Beer and Spirits Tasting at the McCreight family home. Before a crowd of 170 Pasadena Unified School District parents and supporters, the nonprofit group recognized outstanding parent volunteers Begonia Bautista Beltran, Scott Harden and Angie Uriu. Diane Orona was recognized with the PEN Founders Award for her support of PEN’s mission, which is to promote family participation in public education. Food was provided by Paella Project, Amara and Nothing Bundt Cake. The John Muir High School jazz band provided live music. PEN is a network of more than 1,500 parents who support and send their children to PUSD schools. For more information, visit penfamilies.org.
