Pacific Clinics recently hosted the second annual Champions of Mental Health Gala at the Langham Huntington Hotel to honor four leaders in mental health awareness: actress and author Jenifer Lewis, entrepreneur and former NBA player Metta World Peace, Congresswoman Grace Napolitano and East West Bank. More than 250 guests helped raise funds to assist Pacific Clinics programs that support more than 22,000 children and adults each year.
The event was emceed by KABC-Channel 7 news anchors David Ono and Ellen Leyva. The latter was the 2018 Champion of Mental Health Award recipient. Special guests included Congresswoman Judy Chu and District Attorney Jackie Lacey. Messages from state Sen. Anthony Portantino, Assemblywoman Blanca Rubio and Los Angeles County Supervisor Kathryn Barger were shared.
The evening included entertainment by Muse/ique that was underwritten by East West Bank. Blue Shield of California was the title sponsor, and the event was presented by Epic Insurance Brokers & Consultants.
