The Convalescent Aid Society, a nonprofit organization which has been active since 1923, recently hosted its annual Garden Party at the Shakespeare Club.
More than 150 donors and community leaders representing 40 sponsoring organizations and individuals attended. Guests enjoyed elegant food catered by Ronen Levy Events, Alexanders Prime Meat, Merengue Bakery, We Olive and Mission Wine & Spirits.
The organization provides Pasadena and the San Gabriel Valley residents with
in-home medical equipment, which is loaned for as long as they need it with no service charge.
“We are very grateful for all the supporters, including the various hospitals in the area, senior care agencies and a bunch of individual donors who care about making medical equipment accessible to everyone,” said Mark Waterson, CEO of the Convalescent Aid Society. “One hundred percent of the proceeds go to keeping the loan of medical equipment free to anyone who needs it in the San Gabriel Valley.”
As of Monday, Oct. 25, the organization raised $62,475 of its $90,000 goal.
The Convalescent Aid Society has served its communities for the past 98 years by providing loaned, durable medical equipment to 30,000 area residents.
