The Pasadena Police Activities League recently held its annual golf tournament at Brookside Golf Club, with 105 golfers in attendance. The event started with breakfast on the Mediterranean Patio, followed by an 8 a.m. start, and a post-golf reception.
“It was a lot of fun; everybody had a great time,” said PAL board chair Barbara Baptie. “We wee delighted by the attendance and the excitement of all the players. We couldn’t have the success of the PAL programs without them.”
Event coordinator Jill Hawkins said the funds raised “will go toward programs for the youth in the Pasadena community and create stronger bonds and trust between our youth and the Pasadena Police Department.”
Hawkins credited the Berns Team and Domingo, Elias & Vu as the event’s top sponsors. She also said the PPD Community Services Division and the youth advisers of the PAL program helped make the event successful.
The Pasadena Police Activities League is an after-school program run by the PPD at the Salvation Army, to service the youth of the Pasadena community with the help of youth advisers in the after school program.
