The annual dinner of the Pasadena City College Foundation was held recently under the stars in the backyard garden of PCC Foundation President Jim Sarni and his wife, Becky. The 30-member board and their guests mingled throughout the night at culinary stations, created by chef Claud Beltran of Claud and Co.
The inspirational speaker of the night was Leilani Tran, a PCC student who entered the fall semester after having graduated from Mayfield Senior High School. Leilani shared her experiences of being involved in the Pathways and Honors programs at PCC. After her speech, Sarni surprised her with a merit scholarship in the amount of $1,000 from the PCC Foundation. Volunteers for the evening were PCC scholarship winners who are members of the student philanthropy group, Lancers for Life Academy.
