Pasadena Pops conductor Larry Blank, the Pasadena Pops Orchestra recently presented its annual free concert for the city of Pasadena on the steps of City Hall. Guest vocalists Christina Saffran, Maximo Marcuso and Lisa Vroman joined in on the all-American celebration with dazzling renditions of “Birth of the Blues,” “Somewhere” and more, while the orchestra shone on such old-fashioned favorites as “Stars and Stripes Forever” and John Williams’ “Hymn to the Fallen.”
