The Convalescent Aid Society celebrated its fifth annual Gourmet Garden Party recently at the Women’s City Club at the historic Blinn House. More than 230 donors and community leaders enjoyed elegant food donated by 12 local restaurants and catering services as guests strolled the grounds to classic jazz played by a talented trio of Pasadena City College students.
Caregivers Hazel Bailey and Lydia Maraiyesa were recognized for their years of service to their patients. Hands were raised to donate funds to sponsor needed hospital beds. More than 50 organizations from the community supported the event and enabled CAS to continue to help the community by loaning durable medical equipment.
The Convalescent Aid Society is the nation’s largest supplier of free loaned durable medical equipment, currently serving more than 30,000 area residents.
