The Pasadena Humane Society and SPCA’s 20th annual Doglegs, Birdies and Eagles Golf Tournament teed off recently at a private golf club in Pasadena. Golfers spent the day on the links followed by a cocktail hour, silent and live auctions, and dinner with a presentation about the Pasadena Humane Society. During the presentation, attendees got to meet Pancake, a paralyzed pup found on a golf course in La Cañada Flintridge who was rehabilitated by the health team and adopted into her forever home. Long-time supporters Nancy and Al Plamann hosted the event. Golfers were greeted by furry friends as they arrived at the course for a day of fun while supporting the work of the PHS. The event raised approximately $150,000 to help care for the more than 11,000 homeless, stray and abandoned pets cared for by the organization each year.
Al Plamann chaired the event; committee members included John Berger, Steve Falk, Bob Fidler, Ed Hearst, Carol Kirby, Beverly Marksbury, Weta Mathies, Bob McCrary, Nancy Plamann, Tom Ratanavaraha and Amy Zheng.
